    Ms. Rita is the queen of organization! She will greet you with a smile and make coming into CPDC a wonderful experience! Ms. Rita is a retired teacher. Her passion for teaching and children makes her a wonderful fit to the Coastal Pointe Dance Company Staff

    • Ms. Valerie Ann
      Ms. Valerie AnnOwner and Director


      Ms. Valerie began dancing at the age of 3.5. Instantly, dance became her everything. Valerie studied the Balanchine style of ballet and pointe under the direction of retired NYC Ballet Principal dancers Peter & Lisa Naumann at New Paltz School of Ballet. While there, Valerie held countless roles each year in The Nutcracker as well as roles in the spring shows such as Fire Bird, and Coppelia. In addition Valerie also studied jazz under the direction of Deanna Ford, former Radio City Rockette.

      During the ages of 14-18 Ms.Valerie continued to study Ballet at The Catskill Ballet Theatre Company. She studied the Royal Ballet method under Director Anne Hebard. While dancing at CBT, Ms. Valerie held many roles in the Nutcracker, and Dracula the Ballet. In 2006 Ms.Valerie was accepted into the American Academy of Ballet summer intensive. There she studied ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and character dance.

      Ms. Val attended college at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI where she studied elementary education and dance. Valerie was a member and a choreographer for the RWU Dance Club during all four years of college. During her sophomore year Valerie was elected Vice President of the Dance Club. Ms. Val was known for her heartfelt and courageous choreography! During breaks from college Ms. Valerie continued to train at World of Dance Studio in Saugerties, NY with Regina Marcucci.

      After graduating from college Ms. Val continued her dance training at Motion the Dance Studio in North Dartmouth, MA, while working as a substitute teacher and going for her MED at Rhode Island College in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Val is a certified elementary and early childhood teacher ages birth-grade 3 and K-6th.

      Ms. Valerie was on Motion The Dance Studio’s adult competition team. Although joining the competition world later in life, Valerie has won numerous high score awards. After a year Valerie joined the Motion staff. She taught children ages 2-8 Ballet, tap, hip/hop, and acro, as well as ballet to children ages 12-17. Valerie worked as an assistant stage manager for The Step Up 2 Dance Tour.

      Ms.Valerie was the choreographer for the Rumson-Fair Haven High School shows Miracle on 34th Street and Young Frankenstein. She is currently the choreographer for Freehold Borough High School, where she has choreographed The Addams Family, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Into the Woods. Ms. Valerie has been nominated for outstanding choreography in a play for Rumson Fair Haven’s Fall production of Miracle on 34th Street by Montclair University. She has been nominated for numerous Basie awards for her work on The Addams Family & Young Frankenstein. In particularly she has been nominated for Outstanding choreography in a musical for The Addams Family!

      Valerie has attended numerous dance conventions such as The Beat Dance Tour, The Pulse on Tour and 24Seven Dance Convention. She has trained with the industry’s top choreographers and dancers such as Sonya Tayeh, Courtney Galiano, Mandy Moore, Cyrus, Brian Feedman, Angel & Victor, and Sean Curran to name a few!

      Ms. Valerie has attended The Pulse Dance Teacher Workshop and The Dance Teacher Web Training Conference. Ms. Valerie has completed the Barbizon Modeling and personal development program. She has modeled and acted in numerous events such as The Women’s expo at Brookdale Community College, and as an extra in Woody Allen’s movie Irrational Man. Ms. Valerie continues to train in all genres of dance by attending classes at LB Kass Dance studio in Shrewsbury, NJ, Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway in NYC.

      Valerie has a caring, firm, yet nurturing demeanor that enables her to teach her students in a way that they understand and continuously grow from. Her delivery is always clear and concise so children understand exactly what her expectations are and how to apply themselves to be the best person and dancers they can be! Being both a trained teacher and trained dancer Ms. Valerie is able to provide all children with the top dance education!

      • Ms. Kimberly

        Kimberly is a recent graduate of the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, receiving her B.F.A. with Honors in dance performance. She started her dance training at the age of 4 at Kathryn Barnett School of Dance, Red Bank, NJ, taking ballet, jazz, pointe, lyrical/contemporary and tap classes and joined the competition team at the age of 8. During that time, she attended numerous dance competitions, winning high score awards and special judge’s awards. At the age of 11, she took additional classes in ballet and pointe at American Repertory Ballet’s Princeton Ballet School and the Academy of Dance Arts in Red Bank. She attended Red Bank Regional High School as a dance major in the Performing Arts Academy, graduating in 2011.

        Her summer training consisted of intensives at the Rock School for Dance Education, Philadelphia, PA; Peridance, NYC; Complexions Contemporary Ballet, NYC; American Ballet Theatre, NYC; and winter intensive at Mark Morris Dance Group, NYC. Kimberly also participated in the two-month Summer Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center, NYC, in 2013 where she studied with Sheila Barker, Matthew Powell, Jim Cooney, Tracie Stanfield, Brice Mousset, Jack Hertzog and Brooke Wendle. While studying at BDC, she also interned at the Pulse Dance Convention.

        At the University of the Arts, Kimberly studied under distinguished teachers/choreographers such as Roni Koresh, Michael Sheridan, Christine Cox, Tommie Waheed-Evans, Eva Szabo, Kim Bears-Bailey, Bethany Bender Formica, Katie Swords Thurman and Wayne David.

        While at the various summer intensives, she studied with Desmond Richardson, Dwight Rhoden, Melissa and Richard Bowman, Igal Perry, Nina Goldman, Jennifer Wheat and Bojan and Stephanie Spassoff.

        Her performance credentials include appearances at Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney World Resort, Philadelphia 76’ers, the Merriam Theatre in Philadelphia, Patriot’s Theatre in Trenton and Symphony Space, NYC. Kimberly’s most recent performance was this past April in Norte Maar’s CounterPointe 3 Festival at the Actor’s Fund Art Center in collaboration with Brooklyn Ballet.

        Kimberly is very excited to be a part of Coastal Pointe Dance and looks forward to sharing her love of dance and performing with others.

          Ms. Kasi is a graduate of NYU’s theatre and education program. Ms. Kasi is currently a theatre and English teacher at Freehold Borough High School. She will be teaching acting and musical theatre at CPDC!

            Ms. Brie is our Tap, hip-hop and tiny combo instructor. She is also a choreographer for our Company Competition team.
